Handgun cleaning question?

I just bought a springfield xd9 and I was wondering if I needed to clean it before I went out and shot it. They fired a round before they shipped it to ensure it worked properly so I'm assuming it's ready to fire. It was shipped in the US so it wasn't loaded with packing grease. So am I good to shoot it or do I need to clean it before shooting it for the first, well second time?
