Does modern pop music brainwash?

Seriously, I don't mean to sound like a nut, but do they put something into these songs to make people like it? I hate everything about most modern music that is played on the radio, but it occasionally gets stuck in my head and I catch myself singing Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga!! Why is this happening? I want to get R.A. the Rugged Man, Vinnie Paz and Big Pun stuck in my head...
