Wild camping and hunting in Scotland.?

Me and a group of friends are camping/survival enthusiasts and we want to try camping somewhere more rugged. We plan to do a week away in Scotland where we live off the land, can anyone reccomend a good place to camp that is remote? We want to take air rifles to hunt small game to eat, I understand the british laws on air rifles and i know we need land owners permission, how do i find out who owns what land to ask them? Or do you think camping/hunting somewhere remote enough would not bother locals or the law? Thanks
